I love making my daughter tutu dresses for sporadic photo ops, holiday wear, and Halloween costumes. As she gets older, I plan to make more tutu dresses for fun dress-up pieces too! Today I am sharing a tutorial on how to make these lovely garments whether you want one for everyday, photo shoots, or even your flower girls! I made this tutu dress in black and yellow, but there are so many colors out there that you can get creative with!
The easiest way to figure out the size is to put the headband around the child's chest and measure the desired length from the bottom row of loops on the headband. Once you have the desired length, multiply by two and cut your strands of tulle at that length. For example, I wanted my daughter's dress length to be 12 inches, so I cut 24 inch strands of tulle.
