Have you ever heard of the “Then and Now” book series? Thunder Bay Press publishes a collection of books that each holds a collage of photos representing the evolution of a specific city. It is really cool to see how the known structures of a city historically looked compared to how the look today! I love the idea of using a “Then and Now” book as a wedding guestbook. Simply visit the Thunder Bay Press website at www.thunderbaybooks.com to find the book that represents the city that you are getting married in or maybe the city that represents your roots. Then, ask your guests to sign the pages with their wishes to you as well as their comments on the history of the city. These “Then and Now” guestbooks make for wonderful coffee table books, conversation pieces, and a memorable wedding keepsake. ArtFire...Have you heard of it? 08/21/2011
One of my Etsy pals introduced me to ArtFire this morning - I can't believe I haven't heard of it until now! During the tour of this interactive handmade market place and craft community, I found it to be very user friendly. Potential buyers are able to enter search strings in several different markets like handmade, vintage, and design. ArtFire also offers a listing of categories that one can search under such as free shipping, colors, and sales. Under the “ArtFire Trends and Ideas” section, there is a link to “Handmade Weddings” that features all things wedding. Perfect if you are looking for handcrafted bridal dresses/accessories and wedding décor. I have found the ArtFire community to be very similar to Etsy with a few differences here and there. If you can’t find what you are looking for on Etsy, I definitely suggest trying ArtFire as another outlet. LINK: www.artfire.com I am very excited to announce our new partnership with The Knot Wedding Shop. The signing of wine bottles at weddings is a fun and unique alternative to the traditional guestbook. Simply place a bottle of your favorite wine next to an attractive framed message that instructs guests to sign the bottle with their wedding wishes. Make sure that you test out the markers in advance to ensure that they show up clearly on the bottle. Store the bottle until your first anniversary where you can then reminisce upon the wedding memories while breaking open the bottle for a special anniversary toast. Get even more creative by adding a few more bottles to the guestbook table with each one representing a different anniversary year such as your 5th and 20th anniversaries. You will then be able to enjoy the wine as well as the fond memories of your wedding day for years to come! Cork Guestbooks 06/15/2011
I saw this idea in play at a recent wedding – definitely a fun twist on the traditional guestbook. While the guests are not able to write a whole lot on the corks, there are still ways to make this type of guestbook work to your advantage. You could have your guests sign their names on the corks or ask them to write a word or two that they think best describes you as a couple. After the wedding, arrange the corks into a framed corkboard and display on your kitchen wall. And there you have it: a unique piece of wall art as well as fond memories from you special day! Brides Who Love Bling 05/06/2011
I am seeing a lot more brides opting to have a little bit of bling incorporated into their floral arrangements. These beautiful pieces created by Fabulous Flowers are a perfect example! The mixture of moss, blossoming flora, tea lights, and candle lit globes hanging off sporadic branches result in absolutely beautiful centerpieces. Fabulous Flowers decided to take the look a step further by adding silver supports and crystal drops, which gave the presence of an enchanted garden. Amazing how adding in touches of bling can completely transform a floral arrangement! Geaux Photo Rocks This Real Wedding 09/15/2010
We teamed up with Geaux Photo for a recent wedding and just had to share with you the amazing results from that night! The guests could not get enough of the fun theatrical props that Geaux Photo provided. The bride and groom had a photo guestbook set up where guests were able to receive two copies of each 2x2 composite photo taken. One composite was left for the newlywed's guestbook and the other copy was for the guests to take home as a fun memory of that special night. We definitely recommend Geaux Photo for your photo booth needs. They have a number of packages at different price points for you to choose from. For an additional small fee, Geaux Photo provides extras like props and guestbook services that will really rock your wedding! As we are in the midst of the digital age, brides are starting to create websites to share their wedding activities. These websites tend to include stories of how the bride and groom met, the engagement, information about the bridal party, as well as helpful information for guests concerning wedding day activities. You don't have to pay to build one of these websites either; many places offer free wedding websites that can easily be built in 15 minutes! Five common ones are listed below to help you get started on your wedding website! 1. www.theknot.com 2. www.mywedding.com 3. www.edwedding.com 4. www.weddingwire.com 5. www.weddingchannel.com | Inspiration BlogBookmark us to your favorites to keep posted on updates of the latest inspirational trends and events!
