Bridal Show 101 12/23/2010
Bridal shows are a wonderful opportunity for brides to meet and discuss their wedding day needs with a variety of wedding professionals all at once. But, you must come prepared in order to make the most of a bridal show. Here are some tips that will help make your bridal show experience an efficient and effective one. 1. Get there early. It pays to be punctual when it comes to bridal shows. Parking tends to be limited and you don’t want to miss out on the door prizes and glasses of champagne that are often given out to the early birds! 2. Bring a tote bag. Bridal shows frequently supply brides with a bag that they can carry with them throughout the bridal show to store all of the business cards and flyers that they receive from vendors. Come prepared with a tote bag in hand just in case the venue runs out of or is not providing bags for the bridal show. 3. Don’t forget your labels. Many vendors ask brides to sign their guestbook for drawings and other special offers. The one comment I hear most from brides at the shows is that they wish they would have brought stickers with their contact information so they don’t have to keep filling out every vendor’s guestbook by hand! Avoid the hassle of filling out guestbook after guestbook by creating a few sheets of labels with your name, phone, email, address, and wedding date included on each label. Stick a label on one vendor’s guestbook and move on to the next! 4. Only visit vendors whose services you still need. If you have already ordered your wedding cake and floral arrangements, then there is no need to stop by the bakers’ and florists’ booths. Don’t waste your time or the vendors’ time discussing services that you have already booked with other vendors. Instead, spend your time wisely by visiting the booths of those vendors whose services you still need to book. 5. Use this time to consult with vendors. Instead of just taking a flyer from one vendor and heading to the next, take some time to talk to each vendor. Get to know the vendor and their services while they get to know you and your wedding day needs. After your discussion, you can eliminate those vendors who are not a good fit while holding on to the information for those vendors who are your top picks. Not to mention the amount of time you will save not having to sort through hundreds of business cards from vendors you can’t even remember! Limos For The Bridal Party? 12/14/2010
Limousines for the bridal party are not necessary, but highly recommended if you are able to fit it in your budget. The reason why - you want to get your bridal party to the ceremony safely and on time! The choice of going with a limousine; well, that is an added luxury for all those in your bridal party who have put in hours helping you plan for your big day! Get quotes from as many transportation companies as possible so that you can compare the vehicle options and pricing to find an option that best suits your tastes and budget. Here are some options that may help lower the price if you are on a strict budget: 1) Order a charter limousine: Have it pick you and the bridesmaids up first and drop you all off at the ceremony site. Then, have the limo circle back and pick up the groom and his groomsmen and drop them off at the ceremony site. Single charters are often cheaper than point to point transportation in multiple vehicles. With this option, you will also be able to spend quality time with your bridesmaids before all of the bustle at the wedding! 2) Look into towncars for the bridal party; they tend to run at a cheaper price. 3) If you and the groom want to see each other before the ceremony, you could have a separate car drive you to the ceremony and order only one limousine to take the bridal party separately to the ceremony. There are many different methods of arranging transportation for your wedding. I highly suggest that you attend some local bridal shows to meet with transportation vendors. They usually send out specials after the show that could help you save some money on your transportation. Vintage Themed Photo Shoot 12/12/2010

Engagement Party Planning 12/08/2010
Engagement parties are a wonderful way to announce and celebrate the engagement while also providing the perfect opportunity to introduce family and friends. Keep these pointers in mind for planning your engagement party: 1. Who Hosts The Engagement Party? Typically, the parents of the bride will host this event. But, there is no set rule these days! Many couples are choosing to host the event themselves or friends/family members are jumping in to host the party. 2. What Type Of Event Setting To Have? This depends on your tastes, style, and budget. You can have a cocktail party at a swanky club, formal sit-down dinner, or even a backyard barbecue! 3. When To Have The Engagement Party? Most wedding experts will recommend that you hold the engagement party 1-4 months after the engagement and/or 6 months to one year before the wedding depending on the length of the engagement. 4. Who To Invite To The Engagement Party? A rule of thumb is to only invite those who will be invited to the wedding. Out of town wedding guests are generally not invited to the Engagement Party as they are already being asked to travel for the wedding. Exceptions would be immediate family and the bridal party. 5. Register For Gifts For The Engagement Party? Traditionally, gifts are not to be expected at the engagement party. But, there will be guests who choose to bring a gift for the event. Register for gifts early and create a wedding website where guests can visit to view the engagement party information, where you are registered, and all of the wedding details. Remember that there is still a wedding to plan and you don't want go overboard on the Engagement Party if it will burn you out afterwards when the wedding planning process is at its peak! | Inspiration BlogBookmark us to your favorites to keep posted on updates of the latest inspirational trends and events!
